Can we avoid human conflict by taking care of our shared lands? Becca Harman thinks the soil beneath our feet holds the answer to the conflicts that divide us. Her talk explores what's standing in the way of protecting the landscapes that strengthen communities. Becca Harman is currently pursuing her Masters in Soil Science with an emphasis on international development at UT. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History and French in 2010 before managing an organic farm in Dallas and working in agricultural development in northern Haiti. Her husband, David Harman, is currently a Masters in Fine Arts student in painting. She greatly looks forward to contributing to the efforts of the Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships during her time as a graduate student.
